well, welcome all. i finally started my blog... only two weeks late! that's practically on time for me :) i'll still try to start from the beginning, but i realize how unfair it is for you to get the i've-had-time-to-let-it-sink-in version as opposed to the wow-what-the-f-just-happened version. i'll attempt to be authentic about that and not forget too many precious details. that said, sooo much has happened already that it would be impossible to tell it all, but you'll get the overview, and from now forth i'll be more diligent. hopefully.

so, from the beginning.

in case anyone got lost and ended up here, i'm an aiesecer from ohio, currently doing a traineeship in braunschweig, germany, which is around here-ish:

- sort of smack-dab in the middle. It's a charming city, with a population a little under 300,000. Founded in the 12th century, it's full of history points and old architecture. For example, you can find the castle and the old cathedral right in the city center (right next to all the major shopping lol):

i know a lot of people aren't as much of a euro-history nerd as i am :) so i'll spare you a drawn out story. definitely check it out on wikipedia or something though. very cool.

i arrived in braunschweig may 19th, and i fly back to the states august 2nd. i'm working at a language school/start-up business as a management intern. so far things are going really well with it; my boss and i get along, the workplace is relaxing (for the most part), and our clients are really interesting. i've been given lots of responsibilities (nothing i can't handle), so i'm sure i'll learn a lot.

aside from the professional life, i know i'll learn so much just by living here trying to figure out germans :) and of course, from the aiesecers and fellow trainees here. in the two weeks i've been ignoring my blog, there have been innumerable experiences and lessons. it's great having so many other trainees here, and i've become fast friends with a lot of them as well as german @ers. i'm the only american here, so not only do i see everything from my point of view, but at the same time i get to see it from the perspective of more than 10 other countries :)

k, well consider that my intro :) now to the stories...

xoxo.

p.s. ...i didn't realize how much i missed europe until i came back :) ...
